Willed Body Program

Social Security

It is very important to contact Social Security after the death of a loved one. If no funeral home is used High Point University’s Willed Body Program will notify Social Security of a donor’s death, as required by law. To apply for death benefits a family member must contact Social Security.

You can contact Social Security by phone at 1-800-772-1213, by visiting their website at www.socialsecurity.gov, or by visiting them in person at your local Social Security Office.
