International Women’s Day has, since 1911, celebrated the contributions of women to society and emphasized the importance of gender equality. In High Point, International Women’s Day focuses on the rich and diverse local activity that connects women from all over the world in our “international city”. Please join us as we celebrate women through diverse music, dancing, cultural dishes, and crafts. This year’s theme is #PressforProgress.    This event is free to attend and open to the public.

Yoga With Jessamyn Stanley

Jessamyn Stanley uses high-energy vinyasa flow as a way to move past mental and emotional barriers. Women’s and Gender Studies Awards Ceremony and Research Symposium

Students will present their research and WGS awards will be granted. Carter Hayward, a pioneering feminist theologist and a leading voice in the world of Christianity, will be giving the keynote speech. In 1974, she was one of the Philadelphia Eleven, eleven women whose ordinations eventually paved the way for the recognition of women as priests in the Episcopal Church in 1976. Hayward is currently a teacher and a priest for the Episcopal Church.
