As the semester winds down…

I hope that you are all gearing up for a wonderful holiday season, because I know that we are all very excited here at High Point University.  The campus is decorated beautifully, and it feels like a Winter Wonderland here (minus the snow, of course, it is North Carolina after all!)

This is also an exciting time for us here because our students are wrapping up their Fall Semester.  Exams are taking place right now, and the libraries across campus are packed with students studying and completing projects.  They are also packing up to head home for break, so be on the lookout for students in High Point gear coming your way!

For many of our students, this was their first semester as High Point University.  And what an amazing semester it has been!

Over the course of their first few months as High Point University students, they have attended fantastic athletic events and learned to bleed purple and white.  They have gone to midnight movies and tried their hand at Open Mic Nights.  They have performed on stage and attended lectures from some of the most inspirational speakers in the country.  They have joined clubs and participated in thousands of community service hours.  They have become important parts of our wonderful community.

They have completed their first college courses, learning from some of the best in their fields of academic expertise.  They have been challenged to hone their talents, and engaged in the classroom.  They have begun a journey that will take them to careers of success and lives of significance. They have been inspired to do their best, and to go even farther.

We are all very excited to see what these students will do in their second semester and in the years to come.  We are also excited to see what you, the prospective student, will do here once you arrive on campus. This is an extraordinary university, no doubt about it.  But we need extraordinary people like you to make it even better.

I wish you and your family the happiest of holidays!
