Freshman Applications
Don’t know how to choose the application that’s best for you? We treat all applications the same, however, one may be better suited for you based on your high school or your interests. Reach out to your Admissions Counselor for help in making the decision.
Please note that our applications are online-only and are not available in paper form. After your application is submitted electronically, portions of the application like letters of recommendation and transcripts may be mailed to complete your application. They can also be uploaded electronically through SCOIR, Naviance, or Slate.org. Electronic submission will typically result in notification of receipt and processing in 24 hours or less. Paper submission may take up to two weeks for notification of receipt.

High Point University has already received over 15,000 applications for admission this year; however, we realize that not everyone’s college search follows the same path. If you feel that you are a strong candidate for the unique educational opportunities at HPU, we welcome your application. At this point, offers of admission are only made if space is available and if we feel that you will make the most of our experiential learning, values based education, and life skills development.
How to Apply
- Complete and submit your application for admission and all required supporting documents using one of the online applications listed above.
- Take time on your essay. This is your best way to communicate with the Admissions Committee who you are beyond the courses you’ve taken and the activities you’ve been a part of. This is the first thing your Admissions Counselor will review as they try to get to know you. Be sure to make the most of your introduction.
- Ask your School or College Counselor to send your official high school transcript to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions or upload through your application or Slate.org.
- Ask your guidance or college counselor to complete and submit the Counselor Report form.
- Please provide one letter of recommendation from either your counselor or a teacher.
- High Point University is test optional. Request that the official results of the SAT or ACT be sent to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. High Point University’s SAT code is 5293; the ACT code is 3108.
- At High Point University, we want to know more about you! As a result, we have partnered with ZeeMee. It is a free app that allows you to upload photos and videos to share more of your story with us. Simply go to ZeeMee.com to get the app on iOS or Android. Once you have added photos and videos that share about your interests and passions with us, copy and paste your ZeeMee link into your High Point University application. We also welcome links to personal web pages or other platforms such at Cirkled In and LifeStream. Please note that submitting a profile link is not a requirement and the evaluation of your admissions application will not be delayed as long as all materials are received by the stated deadlines.
