Darrell E. Sechrest Art Gallery

The High Point University Darrell E. Sechrest Art Gallery is primarily an educational gallery that provides the High Point University and the greater High Point communities with rotating exhibitions in a range of media. These exhibitions will offer opportunities to interact with exhibiting artists and hear them speak about their work. Exhibitions will involve solo displays from artists currently active in their fields as well as group shows and works from a variety of collections including the University’s Permanent Collection that have a more historic purpose. All exhibitions, gallery talks, and openings are publicized locally and regionally and open to the public.

If you have any questions regarding the gallery (scheduling group visits, community outreach, etc.), then please contact Maxine Campbell, Director, at mcampbel@highpoint.edu or 336-841-4680.

Mission Statement

1. Provide a venue to expose students and the community to high caliber works of art created by artists from a wide range of disciplines and backgrounds.
2. Through exhibitions, outreach, and related educational programming the gallery is dedicated to the cultural enrichment of the university community.
3. To explore and inspire through our collection and exhibitions, the emotional and intellectual resources of our audiences.
4. To create a sense of belonging and provide our visitors with an enjoyable and enduring experience.
