Semester Long Opportunities<\/h2>\n

Our institution is in a consortium with the Studio Art Centers International in Florence, Italy. Art and Graphic Design Students are encouraged to attend this program as it is aligned with our curriculum. More information and application forms are available through HPU\u2019s study abroad office<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Interior Design and Fashion Merchandising majors\u00a0can partner with Lorenzo di Medici School in Florence during the spring semester of the junior year.<\/p>\n

Follow in the footsteps of young artists who have historically honed their craft by visiting relevant sites in Italy and the rest of Europe. Work on-site on a series of studio projects in Rome, Pompeii, Florence, Siena, Venice, and other cities across Italy. Research specific works of art and architecture, then confront them face-to-face on this highly experiential and hands-on tour of Italy.

Learn about the joy of Shakespeare\u2019s plays in the best way – by performing them! In this course, you\u2019ll learn how to study text from an actor\u2019s perspective, and be exposed to the richness revealed in Shakespeare\u2019s great characters and language. We\u2019ll travel to the Globe Theatre in London and Royal Shakespeare Company in Stratford-upon-Avon for workshop and productions that examine what these plays meant in their time, and what they mean to us today. This course fulfills the Fine Arts requirement or serves as a theater performance elective.<\/p>\n

    William Shakespeare left behind dozens of amazing plays that resonate deeply with us, nearly 500 years later. THE 4500, Shakespeare in Performance, is a course dedicated to making Shakespeare accessible and joyful. You\u2019ll learn to read, analyze and perform these plays, and to make relevant connections to your life and contemporary culture and society. You\u2019ll explore the sites and paths of Shakespeare\u2019s life in London and Stratford-upon-Avon, and watch many of his plays brought to life by world-class professionals. And you\u2019ll develop your own performance work, culminating in workshops and performance with the Globe and Royal Shakespeare Company. Whether you already love Shakespeare or want to learn why his plays have such lasting impact, this is the course for you.<\/p>\n
