HIGH POINT, N.C., Nov. 20, 2009 ? Members of Carson Stout Boys & Girls Club received a special gift on Nov. 18 at the High Point University baseball field ? a donation of baseball equipment from Wilson Sporting Goods.
Thirty-five children from Carson Stout received not only their very own baseball glove, but a great deal of other equipment was donated to the Macedonia Family Resource Center as well. Other equipment included catcher’s mitts, umpire sets, baseballs, batting helmets and catcher?s masks.
Children who are members of Carson Stout are matched in the Big Brothers Big Sisters mentoring program with the HPU baseball team. The group of Big Brothers, which typically meets weekly at Carson Stout, hosted a baseball clinic prior to the donation.
A majority of the children will also participate in the Macedonia Family Resource Center?s spring baseball league.
