HIGH POINT, N.C., Dec. 7, 2009 ? Tracy Collum, associate dean of the Evening Degree Program, recently served on a panel for a colloquium on Teaching and Nurturing the Adult Learning. The colloquium was held in late October at Winston-Salem State University.
The panel on which Collum served consisted of six administrators and faculty who currently work with adult learners at higher education institutions in North Carolina. While there, the group discussed serving adults on their schedule, building relationships between staff and faculty with adult students, veterans who become students, as well as how to reach out to adult students.
The colloquium ? designed for teachers, researchers and administrators ? helps to strategize and discuss topics of current interest to serving adult learners better.
