Behind The Scenes Video Captures Production Of 'Thoroughly Modern Millie'

HIGH POINT, N.C., March 31, 2011 ? High Point University Nido R. Qubein School of Communication students have produced a video that captures a behind-the-scenes preview of the upcoming HPU production of ?Thoroughly Modern Millie.?

?Thoroughly Modern Millie? will be the Department of Theatre?s largest production to date when it opens in the Pauline Theatre of the Hayworth Fine Arts Center.

The production, directed by Doug Brown, assistant professor of theatre, features a book written by Richard Morris, music written by Jeanine Tessori and lyrics by Dick Scanlan.

?Thouroughly Modern Millie? is set in New York City in 1922, and tells the story of Millie Dillmount who has just moved to the city in search for a new life for herself. The show is full of ?intrigue and jazz,? and is set in a time when women were entering the workforce and the rules of love and social behavior were changing.

The production features Jenn Arnold, Becca Donald and Ben Brown, both seniors; Lauren Henkel, sophomore; Chaz Duffy and Amy Mercier, both freshmen.

Showtimes for the production are 7:30 p.m. April 7 through April 9; and 2 p.m. on April 10.

Tickets are $10 for general admission, $7 for senior citizens, $5 for students and $3 for children 12 and under. Those interested in purchasing tickets may contact the HPU box office at Hayworth Fine Arts Center at 336-841-4673.
