Senior Lands Competitive Entrepreneurship Internship

HIGH POINT, N.C., March 11, 2011 ? Chris Meriwether, a senior majoring in religion with a minor in philosophy at High Point University, was recently selected to participate in the competitive Young Entrepreneurs Across America internship.

The internship, which partners with Student Painters, gives college students an opportunity to create and manage their own exterior painting business over the course of a summer. The program is designed to provide hands-on experience and training for students who plan on running their own businesses.

As part of his internship, Meriwether will be responsible for managing, marketing and handling customer relations for his business. He will be operating his business throughout High Point this summer. Although Meriwether is a religion major he is seeking a future career in small business management.

?My mission for this summer is to be as profitable as possible by utilizing effective marketing techniques, producing the highest quality painting jobs, and committing myself to ethical business practices, integrity, and my personal Christian values,? says Meriwether.
