HIGH POINT, N.C., Aug. 9, 2011 – Megan Hennessey, a rising senior majoring in marketing and entrepreneurship at High Point University, is dancing to the busy beat of the Boston Ballet by serving as a marketing intern for the well-known ballet company.
She is promoting the ballet by assisting the marketing manager with a project for the Marblehead Studio. She has been responsible for creating partnerships with local businesses in the Marblehead community, which ultimately helps promote the ballet.
During her time at HPU, Hennessey says her coursework has familiarized her with the process of presenting a project and given her the ability to look at marketing from a different angle. She is thankful to her HPU professors, who she says prepared her to succeed and excel during her internship.
“I am excited to be able to apply the things I’ve studied at HPU,” says Hennessey. “I have taken various marketing courses, but now I get to utilize my skills in a real-world setting.”
After the graduation, Hennessey plans to work in marketing, sales and public relations.
