HIGH POINT, N.C., Oct. 24, 2011 – High Point University will celebrate its talented students with an exciting evening of music at the annual Fall Instrumental Ensemble Concert, to be held at 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 29 in the Pauline Theatre of the Hayworth Fine Arts Center. The event is open to the public.
The concert will feature several ensembles from the university family, including the University Band, Chamber Orchestra and Flute Ensemble.
Dr. Danny Frye, director of instrumental studies at HPU, says the concert will feature a variety of works, ranging from classical to contemporary, with a special focus on fall and Halloween-themed music.
“The 2011 Fall Instrumental Concert should offer something for everyone,” says Frye. “We are so blessed to have such outstanding instrumental ensembles at HPU, and we invite the entire HPU community to put on their best costume and join us for an evening of terrific music and great fun.”
The concert is free and open to the public. The doors will open at 7 p.m. and the concert will begin at 7:30 p.m.
