Head of Curriculum Development for CFA Institute Visits Business Students

HIGH POINT, N.C., Feb. 21, 2012 – The Phillips School of Business at High Point University recently hosted Dr. Bobby Lamy, head of Curriculum Development at the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Institute in the W. Allen and Nancy Tilley Trading Room of the Wilson School of Commerce.

The CFA Institute is a global, nonprofit organization of investment professionals from more than 100 countries. Lamy visited HPU to speak about the CFA Program and its many benefits for students interested in working in the financial industry.

The program is a globally recognized, graduate level curriculum that links theory and practice with real-world investment analysis and portfolio management skills, and emphasizes the highest ethical and professional standards

Senior Victor Trinklein, a business finance major, successfully completed the CFA Program Level 1 exam in December. Of the 49,380 worldwide individuals sitting for the exam in December, only 38 percent passed – which is quite an accomplishment for an undergraduate student.

“Passing the CFA Level 1 Exam is a monumental step toward my career goals,” Trinklein says. “There are many talented business students at HPU, and I am confident that many will join me in passing this exam.”

At High Point University, every student receives an extraordinary education in an inspiring environment with caring people.℠ HPU, located in the Piedmont Triad region of North Carolina, is a liberal arts institution with over 4,200 undergraduate and graduate students at campuses in High Point and Winston-Salem.
