HIGH POINT, N.C., April 10, 2012 – Bill Burke, a junior majoring in psychology with a minor in Spanish at High Point University, is gaining valuable career experience thanks to his psychology internship at the Center for Creative Leadership.
“This internship will provide me the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding in regards to how psychology and research are essential in a work place setting,” says Burke.
Burke, who plans to pursue a career related to industrial organizational psychology, is able to experience the importance of leadership development and positive employee satisfaction in the workplace at the CCL.
As the center’s research assistant intern, Burke is responsible for customer-satisfaction interviews for the center’s Leadership Beyond Boundaries leadership development product, summarizing research projects, analyzing evaluation data and processes as well as various administrative duties.
“The various psychology and human relation courses at High Point University provided a great introduction to organizational behavior and human relations in the workplace,” says Burke. “Through the help of my faculty supervisor as well as HPU’s Career Center I was able to set up an internship that was both diverse in regards to the required work, while rewarding both personally and academically.”
