HIGH POINT, N.C., Sept. 7, 2012 – Brandon Jones, instructor of interior design in the School of Art and Design at High Point University, was recently selected to receive the 2012-2013 North Carolina Arts Council Artist Fellowship Award in the category of visual art.
Jones will receive a $10,000 fellowship to support his creative development and the creation of new artwork. Jones, who entered a series of multimedia furniture work, was selected as one of 18 recipients out of 276 applications.
“I feel incredibly honored to receive this award,” Jones says. “I have always dreamed of having my own shop/studio and now with this money that dream will come true.”
Recipients were selected by a three-person panel comprised of artists and professionals with expertise in each discipline.
Jones is also the recipient of the 2010 Miriam Scott Mayo & Hazeleene Tate Scott Scholarship from UNC Greensboro, and was profiled in IDEC Exchange: a Forum for Interior Design Education in the summer 2012 edition.
Jones received a Master of Science in interior architecture from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
