HIGH POINT, N.C., Dec. 19, 2013 – Scott Raynor, associate professor and chair of the Art Department at High Point University, recently exhibited his work in a national juried exhibition, “Strokes of Genius,” at the MFA Circle Gallery in Maryland.
Raynor’s work, “Arrangement with African Mask,” depicted a small still life scene painted from observation. It was one of 60 chosen from a pool of 600 applicants.
Raynor says he was honored to be a part of such a prestigious group show, and looks forward to bringing his experiences back to the classroom at HPU.
“It’s important for my students to know the significance as an artist in showing your work to a national audience,” says Raynor. “My hope is to encourage them try to get their creative expressions out in front of others.”
The show was juried by nationally acclaimed artist M. Stephen Doherty, editor of PleinAir Magazine.
