HIGH POINT, N.C., Aug. 7, 2015 – The Department of Physician Assistant Studies at High Point University recently hired Robin Hughes, a certified physician assistant, as assistant professor.
As the clinical coordinator, Hughes secures health care providers from the community to serve as preceptors for the clinical rotations completed by students in the program, and she makes on-site visits once the students begin their rotations. She also assembles observational rotations for students during the classroom portion of their education.
Hughes has been a practicing physician assistant for 32 years specializing in nephrology, orthopedics and sports medicine. For the past 16 years, she has worked with High Point Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine.
“I have seen the PA profession evolve into what it is today – a great heritage of dedicated physician assistants,” says Hughes. “I will work diligently to inspire the students toward the same commitment to excellence that has been demonstrated by the professionals who’ve come before them.”
Hughes received a Bachelor of Medical Science in physician assistant studies from Emory University.
