HPU students have the opportunity to compete for cash prizes and pitch their best business ideas during Phillips School of Business’ annual Elevator Pitch Competition. The award money allows students to invest in their business ideas and move forward in making those ideas a reality.
This year the competition was held on Wednesday, November 18, 2020. To compete, students needed to submit their application by Friday, October 30, 2020. Applications for future competitions may be obtained from Kathy Elliott, Director of the Center for Entrepreneurship, at email@example.com
The competition is sponsored by Troy Knauss, the Bailey and Trey McKee Entrepreneurship Fund, and the HPU Business Accelerator Fund. Students vie for first, second, and third place awards, plus an additional people’s choice award. Up to $5,000 in prizes may be awarded.
Students may compete individually or in teams. The competition is open to any enrolled student at High Point University.
The annual competition is open to all High Point University undergraduate students enrolled full time in the spring semester of the competition year, regardless of course of study. Be sure to check the full rules and requirements.
A panel of judges consisting of entrepreneurs, investors, and local business leaders evaluates each business plan and the corresponding presentations made by the chosen finalists.
