Tenure-Track Position in Biochemistry  (APPLY HERE)

The Department of Chemistry at High Point University invites applications for a Tenure-Track position in Biochemistry at the Assistant Professor rank with a start date of August 2021. Teaching responsibilities will include introductory and specialty courses in biochemistry and chemical biology as well as introductory courses in chemistry and general education courses for non-science majors. In addition, the successful candidate will be expected to develop an active research program involving undergraduates. Preference will be given for candidates with training in protein biochemistry to complement the expertise of our current faculty. The department supports B.S. degree programs in chemistry and biochemistry with a significant number of students preparing for careers in the health professions. The successful applicant will have access to startup and institutional research funds, laboratory, and office space in the newly completed Wanek School of Natural Sciences and state of the art instrumentationHigh Point University, named the South’s number one “up and coming schools” and ranked number one in “undergraduate teaching”, is in the midst of an exciting academic and cultural transformation, including the University’s launch of new programs in the health professions. A Ph.D. in biochemistry or closely-related field is required and postdoctoral experience is preferred.

The Department of Chemistry at High Point University invites applications for a one-year non-tenure track position at the rank of Instructor with a start date of August 2021. Teaching responsibilities will be to teach foundation lecture and laboratory courses as well as potentially general education courses for non-science majors. Research involving undergraduates is possible. The department supports B.S. degree programs in chemistry and biochemistry with a significant number of students preparing for careers in the health professions. Successful applicants will have office space in the newly completed Wanek School of Natural Sciences. An advanced degree in chemistry, biochemistry or closely-related field is required and a PhD is preferred.
