Research Scholar Program<\/strong><\/h2>\n

\"\"What it is: <\/strong><\/h3>\n

A team of 5 students will research how digital media impacts children\u2019s learning and development. The team will work with Dr. Sarah Vaala to conduct research on behalf of the Joan Ganz Cooney Center at Sesame Workshop, then travel to NYC in the Spring to present the findings at Sesame Workshop headquarters (the producers of\u00a0Sesame Street<\/em>). This is a year-long project that requires about 10 hours of work per week. This year\u2019s research topic is children\u2019s STEM learning through digital media in informal contexts (e.g., museums)<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Who is eligible:<\/strong><\/h3>\n

This program is open to HPU juniors of all majors (seniors and sophomores may be considered as well, though the program is intended for juniors). A completed research methods course or research experience is preferred but not required.<\/p>\n

What you need to apply:<\/strong><\/h3>\n

You will complete an online application (link below) for consideration in the program. The application requires several short essays about your interest in research and in the Cooney Center at Sesame Research Scholar Program. You will also provide the contact information for a faculty member who is willing to serve as a reference.<\/p>\n

Applications due by September 3, 2022. A subset of applicants will then be selected for interviews.<\/p>\n
