\"Student<\/a><\/p>\n

Adjudication Process<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Any individual may submit a concern or report regarding a student to the Office of Student Life. Students referred for behavioral concerns may be sent to the Office of Community Standards to determine if their behavior has violated University policy including the Code of Conduct, Honor Code, Title IX, or others outlined in the Student Guide to Campus Life<\/a>. \u00a0A report by Residence Life staff, HPU Campus Security, or others does not mean a student is responsible for a policy violation. \u00a0The Student Conduct Process is an administrative process, not a legal one.<\/p>\n

A student is presumed \u201cNot Responsible\u201d for policy violations until\/unless there is a Preponderance of the Evidence to determine they are \u201cResponsible\u201d for a violation. \u00a0Students involved in a civil\/criminal process may also be charged for the same acts if those alleged behaviors would violate University policy as well.<\/p>\n

Students who are documented and referred to the Office of Community Standards will be notified of a meeting via email and\/or phone with information about the date\/time\/location of their Administrative Conduct Conference with a staff member within the Office of Community Standards. Students who fail to meet with the Office of Community Standards will have his\/her case adjudicated without his\/her participation.<\/p>\n

Administrative Conduct Conference<\/strong><\/h2>\n

An Administrative Conduct Conference is an opportunity for a student to meet with a Student Conduct Administrator and share his\/her perspective on an incident, review reports, respond to charges, and\/or resolve his\/her conduct matter.\u00a0 Students who accept responsibility for their behavior will be assigned sanctions based on the Student Guide to Campus Life<\/a>.\u00a0 Students who deny responsibility or wish to challenge the sanctions issued may request a University Conduct Board (UCB) Hearing to resolve the matter.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
