7th Grade Language Arts Teacher

Karen is an alumnus of High Point University where she received her BA degree in English Literature and Secondary Education. In 2007, Karen completed her master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Grand Canyon University. Most recently, Karen finished her doctoral coursework in Curriculum and Instruction from Gardner-Webb University.

Presently, Karen teaches seventh grade Language Arts at Jamestown Middle School. She is passionate about empowering her students and colleagues with the gift of mindfulness, the beauty of living in the moment with curiosity and without judgment. Karen also oversees the Restorative Practice Program at JMS and is currently leading professional development for teachers on Social/Emotional  Learning.
