Electronic Evidence II"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In the courses <em>EDU 7273 Intercultural Communication Skills for Contemporary School Leaders and EDU 7272 Community and Public Relations<\/em>, the candidate will be expected to demonstrate skills associated with leadership and linked to community relations, public relations, and intercultural communication.\u00a0 The project will require candidates to apply best practices, plan effectively, and offer instructional leadership to various stakeholders.\u00a0 Knowledge and skills will be applied with problems of practice through the lens of Principal\/Director\/Superintendent.<\/p>\n<p>In the project, the candidate will the create a comprehensive Communications \/ Public Relations Plan for a new school or initiative in the district (such as a Newcomers school or project with a community center such as the High Point Center for Children and Families), which serves a multitude of students at various learning levels and from various socioeconomic statuses.\u00a0 The Plan should address everything form the opening of school to the closing of school.\u00a0 The Plan should provide evidence of the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Collaboration from the planning and implementation stages, along with evidence of consistent collaboration during times of future sustainability.<\/li>\n<li>Data-based strategies for creating and maintaining collaborative cultures.<\/li>\n<li>An implementation and monitoring plan for current and future improvements made regarding school culture.<\/li>\n<li>A statement of purpose and action steps to ensure access, engagement, and success for culturally diverse students, faculty, and staff.<\/li>\n<li>Processes and procedures which build consensus, communicate, and resolve conflict in a fair and democratic way, while at the same time demonstrate awareness of potential problems and areas of conflict within the school and district, that may impact stakeholders and overall student performance\/achievement.<\/li>\n<li>A parent and community involvement\/outreach plan that strongly identifies and showcases the building of relationships with individuals and groups to support the district\u2019s learning and teaching agenda.<\/li>\n<li>Collaborative work with others to develop relationships and partnerships with the community\/school board, state, and district groups that further the district\u2019s goals of positive culture and increased student performance.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p>Directions and Candidate Requirements<br \/>\nGreat news!\u00a0 Your district is opening a Newcomers school!\u00a0 This school will be for students who are new to your district, the United States, and the English language.\u00a0 The school will serve students from a variety of cultures and socioeconomic status.\u00a0 Students will be able to attend the school for up to one year at which time they will move to the appropriate school within the district.<\/p>\n<p>Since this is a new school, it needs everything.\u00a0 One of the things that it needs is a comprehensive Communications \/ Public Relations Plan.\u00a0 You have been given the assignment to develop this plan keeping in mind the mission of the school and the district, the students, parents and larger community served by the school, and the need of the school and the district to build relationships.\u00a0 As you develop the plan, be sure to provide evidence of the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Collaboration from the planning and implementation stages, along with positive culture and increased student performance.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p>Evaluation<br \/>\nThe rubric for assessment of Electronic Evidence #2 (<em>Building Collaborative Relationships) <\/em>appears below and will be used by the two faculty members assigned to teaching EDU 7273 Intercultural Communication Skills for Contemporary School Leaders and EDU 7272 Community and Public Relations.\u00a0 These two courses are offered as co-requisite requirements and will include Evidence #2 as a co-assignment spanning both courses.\u00a0 This evidence will constitute 25% of the final grade in each of the two courses. <strong>\u00a0<\/strong>Candidates will be instructed to upload their final Electronic Evidence #2 to Foliotek.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><a
