Environmental Studies Minor


HPU students are encouraged to apply for external fellowships through our office of Fellowships and Awards ( Examples of available scholarships for students with an interest in Environmental Studies are:

Ernest F. Hollings Undergraduate Scholarship Program

  • Provides undergraduates with up to $8,000 for 1-2 years, along with a summer internship at a National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration facility
  • Sophomores with majors related to the environment, biology, math, physics or teacher education may apply

Udall Scholarship

  • Offers up to $7,000 for tuition and room/board for students with a commitment to the environment OR Native American/Alaska Native students seeking careers in tribal public policy/Native American healthcare
  • Sophomores and juniors may apply

Science to Achieve Results (STAR) Fellowships for Graduate Environmental Study

  • Provides a list of relevant internships, fellowships, and scholarships in environmental disciplines
  • Various opportunities available to undergraduates, graduate students, and alumni

Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education Internships, Scholarships and Fellowships

  • Provides a list of hundreds of internships, scholarships, fellowships and research/laboratory experiences available to science and environmental studies majors
  • Open to undergraduates, graduate students, recent graduates, post-docs, K-12 teachers, and faculty
