Dr. Kristy Davis joined the Stout School of Education at High Point University as an assistant professor in 2018. Before entering into higher education, Dr. Davis served as the Executive Director of Exceptional Children for the Alamance-Burlington School System. Prior to her work at the district office, Dr. Davis held administrative positions with Guilford County Schools as both Principal and Assistant Principal. Additionally, she served as an Exceptional Children’s Program Coordinator and Curriculum Facilitator with Guilford County as well as an Exceptional Children’s teacher in both Guilford and Randolph Counties. Dr. Davis currently serves as a member of the HPU Leadership Academy’s Principal Leadership team where she works to help prepare school leaders. Her areas of research include preparing school leaders for advocacy roles for students with disabilities and ensuring high quality instruction for students with intellectual disabilities.
