Course: THE 4500: Shakespeare in Performance
Course term: Spring 2022
Professor: Pref. Jay Putnam, email@example.com
Specific program activities in Stratford-upon-Avon include a visit to the home of Shakespeare's birth, as well as the home where his wife, Anne Hathaway, lived prior to their marriage. Participants will explore the city at their leisure and visit Shakespeare's grave at Holy Trinity Church. Also in Stratford, students will participate in a Royal Shakespeare Theater workshop!
From Stratford, students will travel to London. While in London, students will enjoy seeing Buckingham Palace, the Tower of London, Piccadilly Circus, and Westminster Abbey, among other historical locations. Participants will attend a workshop at Shakespeare's Globe Theater - the very same theater where Shakespeare entertained the masses hundreds of years ago. Students will also partake in a workshop at the National Theater that includes backstage entry to the theater!
The remainder of the program will be spent with guided tours of London and plenty of leisure time to further explore and experience the city where Shakespeare created his greatest works.
