Walk in the footsteps of Italy's greatest artists on this Global Experience program! Research prominent works of art and architecture during your semester coursework at HPU, then behold them “in situ” on this highly experiential tour of Italy. Work on-site on a series of studio projects in cities such as Rome, Siena, Orvieto, Castelli di Chianti, Monteriggioni, Florence, Lido, Venice, and more. Your inspiration will flow while walking the ancient Roman Forum, standing in awe of the Sistine Chapel, witnessing the resoluteness and splendor of the Duomos of Siena and Florence, and roaming the scenic canals in Venice. Through the sites that you visit, and the Italian culture, you will truly understand what sparked the ingenuity of the Masters while expressing your own creative voice.

Applicants and participants must be full-time students at High Point University in good academic standing holding at least a 2.0 GPA, and must be in good disciplinary standing.

Course Information
This program is an intensive exploration of the major artistic centers of Italy. Students will have the opportunity to visit numerous cathedrals, churches, plazas, and museums to see firsthand the genius of the Italian Masters. They will observe key works of art and architecture, and then through drawing and photography conduct their own explorations of those works. They also will have the opportunity to explore each city, developing their own understanding of the Italian culture and what drove those great artists to design such historically significant creations.
