University of Bamberg

An HPU Exchange Program
Bamberg, Germany

Poster_UniversityOfBambergThe University of Bamberg is a medium-sized school in a beautiful city similar in size to High Point and has made an impressive international presence. With 300 partners in 60 countries, the school has 1,000 international students and sees many exchange students going and coming each semester. It’s only fitting that the University of Bamberg would place such high importance on taking care of international students. There is a full orientation, intensive language courses, partners for practicing German, and cultural activities for incoming students. HPU students can practice their German while enjoying museums, music, and cafes with new friends from all over the world.

The city of Bamberg is consistently rated among the highest in Germany for it’s quality of life and general beauty. It is an energetic university city with a sense of history, a touch of Italy, and a marked cultural life. A 70,000-inhabitant cathedral city, Bamberg’s city center is among the many prestigious UNESCO World Heritage sites.

Even at first glance, Bamberg’s old quarters reveal extensive evidence of university influence and academic life, and the university itself also profits from the flair of the historic city center. It is considered a charming, cosmopolitan university town.

For High Point University to recognize the credits you complete abroad, you must earn at least a grade equivalent to a C in the U.S. HPU will not accept credit for courses with grades of C– or below. Grades for all courses earned abroad are recorded on the international transcript. Credits are received by HPU as transfer credits, which means the credit is received but the grade is not. Your HPU grade point average will not be impacted positively or negatively by your study abroad courses.
