The principal study abroad opportunities available to High Point University students are through our carefully-crafted, academically-rigorous, and culturally-immersive exchange partnerships, noted Exchange below. Students who do not find an exchange partner which will meet their academic needs are welcome to review our affiliated (fee-paying) semester study abroad options, noted Affiliated below.
While experiences may be similar at both an exchange and an affiliated partnering school, many affiliated programs present limitations not found on exchange programs, especially regarding upper-level course equivalencies, immersive cultural experiences, and the use of financial aid–students receiving any institutional aid (scholarships, grants, tuition-concession, etc.) will be able to apply their aid towards the fees for study on exchange only (applicable students studying at an affiliated partner will forfeit institutional aid for the term abroad). Review the Financial Aid Policy on Study Abroad for more information.
Note: Not every university partner will offer coursework to meet your academic needs. Before selecting a university, it is advised to narrow this list to those partnering universities which may fit best with your academic interests. Log into the Study Abroad Portal to research subject offerings by program.
