About Hangzhou Normal University
Hangzhou Normal University was formerly known as Hangzhou Teachers College, which was founded in 1978, but the forerunner of the university can be traced back to the Zhejiang 2-level Normal School established in 1908. In March of 2007, it was authorized by the State Educational Ministry to change its name into Hangzhou Normal University (HNU). The university is located in Hangzhou, the capital city of Zhejiang Province, which is reputed as a renowned city of historical and cultural heritage and “the Best Tourism City” in China. Hangzhou has a subtropical monsoon type climate with four quite distinct seasons. However, it is neither too hot in summer nor too cold in winter making it a year-round destination.
Hangzhou Normal University currently has three other locations which include Cangqian, Xiasha, and Gudangwan who all work together to make education for international students a priority. Around 2,000 international students from 42 countries all over the world have been in registrations for programs offered by the university.
Hangzhou Normal University has been developing on the strong foundation of excellence in education, research, and service, and producing numerous first-rate teachers, educators, scientists, and other professionals at different levels.
