For all work completed in a college or university outside the United States, a detailed credential evaluation (showing English translation of courses, grades, GPA, degree equivalency, and more) must be sent directly to the Norcross Graduate School from a recognized, credentialed evaluation service. To be granted unconditional admittance, all graduate level international students must demonstrate advanced proficiency in English.<\/p>\n<p>International applicants are required to submit the following documents, in addition to the other required application materials, listed below:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.highpoint.edu\/graduate\/files\/2016\/10\/HPU-Grad-International-Student-Profile.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">International Graduate Student Profile Form<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.highpoint.edu\/graduate\/files\/2016\/10\/HPU-Grad-Financial-Support.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Certificate of Financial Support<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.highpoint.edu\/graduate\/files\/2016\/10\/HPU-Grad-Visa-Clearance.pdf\">Graduate Visa Clearance<\/a><\/li>\n<li><strong>Certificate of Financial Support<\/strong>: All international applicants must provide proof of sufficient resources to cover educational and living expenses during their pursuit of the degree.\u00a0 A Certificate of Financial Support, outlining financial support available and verification of the support, must accompany the application for admission;<\/li>\n<li><strong>Credential Evaluation (if applicable)<\/strong>: Prospective graduate Business, Communication, and Education students who have studied outside of the United States <strong>must<\/strong> provide an <em>official course-by-course external credential evaluation<\/em> as a required part of the admission process.\u00a0 Applications are considered incomplete without an official credential evaluation. This report should be sealed (or electronically secure), unopened and sent directly to Graduate Admissions One University Parkway, High Point, NC 27268. The evaluator or evaluating service must be <a href=\"https:\/\/www.naces.org\/members\">NACES<\/a> accredited.Any relevant official transcripts and other required credentials (e.g., diplomas and marksheets) will be required if admitted, and stated on the admission letter.\u00a0 Those official documents must be submitted prior to matriculation. All external credential evaluations should be no older than two years at the time of application.Prospective international students interested in graduate, professional health sciences programs should refer to the individual <a href=\"https:\/\/www.highpoint.edu\/graduate\/\">programs<\/a> for instructions.<\/li>\n<li>Copy of your passport, visa or\u00a0Permanent Resident Card<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h4>Proficiency in English<\/h4>\n<p><b>\u00a0<\/b>International students who are non-native speakers of English and have not received a degree from a college or university in the United States are required to have their official\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ets.org\/toefl\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Test of English as a Foreign Language<\/a>\u00a0(TOEFL) or International English Language Testing System (IELTS) scores submitted by the testing organization in order to be considered for admission to the University. (For the TOEFL, use code 5293). The minimum TOEFL internet-based score is 79 (paper version score minimum 550). The minimum IELTS score is 6.5. TOEFL and IELTS scores must be no more than two years old. Individual graduate programs may set higher minimum TOEFL\/IELTS scores and require an additional exam and\/or interview in order to determine English proficiency*.<\/p>\n<p>Graduate programs may offer conditional admission to students who do not demonstrate advanced English language skills. Contingent upon review of the candidate\u2019s English language proficiency, candidates may be required to complete additional English language training prior to enrolling in graduate courses.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h4>Immigration Information<\/h4>\n<p>High Point University will issue the form I-20 only after the student is officially accepted and only after a nonrefundable matriculation deposit has been received.\u00a0 Under no circumstance should a student enter the United States with the intent to register at High Point University unless both a current I-20 and a current student visa are in hand.<\/p>\n<p>International students are required to maintain full-time status.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>International candidates who seek admission as graduate students must follow the application guidelines for the program to which they are applying.
