You will attached your poster to the board with binder clips we provide. Therefore, your poster should fit these dimensions (see image below). If you wish to make your poster vertical, it can&#8217;t be wider than 22 in. We will be using tri-fold boards and the sides will have to fold in.<\/li>\n<li>The title of your poster should appear across the top in large letters.\u00a0 Please limit your poster title length.\u00a0 Poster titles using a font size of 60 point will stand out and be easy to read.\u00a0 The minimum font size for poster titles should be 36 point.\u00a0 Below the title put the name(s) of the student author(s), faculty Mentor&#8217;s name, and High Point University<\/li>\n<li>You may want to use graphics to fill in empty margins. Consider using the following: Event logo, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.highpoint.edu\/highpurcs\/files\/2018\/04\/C-microscope.png\">URCW microscope<\/a>, URCW logo (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.highpoint.edu\/highpurcs\/files\/2018\/04\/URCW-Logo-black-PNG.png\">black<\/a>,<a href=\"https:\/\/www.highpoint.edu\/highpurcs\/files\/2018\/04\/URCW-Logo-Transparency.png\"> purple<\/a>)<\/li>\n<li>Use at least 24 pt font or larger for main text<\/li>\n<li>Posters generally read from left to right and top to bottom in columns\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/libguides.libraries.wsu.edu\/posters\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Guidelines for creating a poster in PowerPoint<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>You may wish to use color for highlighting and to make your poster more attractive.\u00a0 Use pictures, diagrams, cartoons, figures, etc., rather than text wherever possible.<\/li>\n<li>Limit the text<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>\u2013 people will not read a lot of text &#8212; and use bullets instead of paragraphs where there is text.<\/li>\n<li>Your poster should cover the key points of your work.\u00a0 It need not attempt to include all the details; you can have a conversation with people who are interested.\u00a0 The ideal poster is designed to attract attention, provide a brief overview of your work, and initiate discussion.<\/li>\n<li>Websites for poster presentation tips:\n<ul>\n<li><a title=\"NC State University Poster Guidelines\" href=\"https:\/\/webguru.sites.northeastern.edu\/preparing-a-poster-presentation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Northeastern University Poster Presentation Guidelines<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.uvm.edu\/four\/tips-tricks-poster-presentations-0\">University of Vermont Poster Presentation Guidelines<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h4>Be prepared with a a 1.5 minute overview to give your audience context for the poster.<\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-230 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.highpoint.edu\/highpurcs\/files\/2013\/10\/Poster-Diagram-e1703781863613.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"336\" height=\"360\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.highpoint.edu\/highpurcs\/files\/2013\/10\/Poster-Diagram-e1703781863613.jpg 336w, https:\/\/www.highpoint.edu\/highpurcs\/files\/2013\/10\/Poster-Diagram-e1703781863613-280x300.jpg 280w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 336px) 100vw, 336px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>NOTE: a conference is more about what you take away from it than what you bring to it.
