Kahn School of Law at High Point University provides public access to the following consumer information regarding our law program.<\/strong><\/em><\/h5>\n<h4 style=\"font-weight: 400\">ABA Standard 208<\/h4>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.highpoint.edu\/law\/files\/2023\/08\/High-Point-Law-Standard-208-Policy.pdf\">Academic Freedom and Freedom of Expression<\/a><\/p>\n<h4 style=\"font-weight: 400\">ABA Standard 310<\/h4>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.highpoint.edu\/law\/juris-doctor\/aba\/\"><u>Determination of Credit Hours for Coursework<\/u><\/a><\/p>\n<h4 style=\"font-weight: 400\">ABA Standard 504<\/h4>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Qualifications for Admission to the Bar<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">In addition to a bar examination, there are character, fitness, and other qualifications for admission to the bar in every U.S. jurisdiction. Applicants are encouraged to determine the requirements for any jurisdiction in which they intend to seek admission by contacting the jurisdiction. Addresses for all relevant agencies are available through the National Conference of Bar Examiners.<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"font-weight: 400\">ABA Standard 509<\/h4>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><em>Required Disclosures<\/em><\/p>\n<ul style=\"font-weight: 400\">\n<li><strong>Accreditation Status:<\/strong> <span data-olk-copy-source=\"MessageBody\"><span data-olk-copy-source=\"MessageBody\">The Kenneth F. Kahn School of Law at High Point University <\/span><\/span><span data-olk-copy-source=\"MessageBody\">is provisionally approved by the<\/span> Council of the Section of Legal Education and Admissions to the Bar of the American Bar Association, 321 North Clark Street, Chicago, IL 60654, 312-988-6738.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Refund Policies:<\/strong> Before the first day of classes students may receive full refund of tuition. Beginning on the first day of class through the first week of class students may receive a refund of half of tuition. After the first week of class there are no refunds of tuition.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.highpoint.edu\/law\/files\/2023\/08\/Calendar-Law.FA_SP_SU.25-26.pdf\">Academic Calendar<\/a><u><\/u><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.highpoint.edu\/law\/juris-doctor\/\">Academic Requirements<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.highpoint.edu\/law\/juris-doctor\/course-descriptions\/\">Curricular Offerings<\/a><\/li>\n<li><strong>Policies Regarding the Transfer of Credit Earned at Another Institution of Higher Education:<\/strong> The School of Law admits a limited number of transfer students. No third-year transfer students will be accepted; however, a third-year student may apply to attend the School of Law on Visiting Student status. Any applicant for transfer must submit, along with the application for admission, a letter signed by the dean of the student\u2019s current law school certifying that the applicant is a student in good standing and eligible to return to that school. A maximum of 32 semester credits or 45 quarter credits may be accepted for transfer credit. Only courses with grades of \u201cC\u201d (or equivalent) or better and which are equivalent to courses at HPU Law or which have acceptable course content may be accepted.
