\"mark<\/a>HPU Law would like to congratulate Senior Associate Justice Gary E. Hicks, a member of our extended faculty, on his recent retirement. Justice Hicks is the 104th Justice of the New Hampshire Supreme Court and served that Court for 18 years.<\/p>\n

Before his time on the Supreme Court, Justice Hicks served on the New Hampshire Superior Court for four years and practiced law in commercial litigation for 23 years with one of New Hampshire\u2019s largest law firms.<\/p>\n

Justice Hicks is the President of the Daniel Webster Batchelder Inns of Court, the first chartered Inn of Court in New Hampshire. He has served the American Inns of Court as chair of both the Leadership Council and Nomination Committee, and he was a member of its Board of Trustees.<\/p>\n

An attorney and judge of great distinction, Justice Hicks received the Manchester Bar Association\u2019s \u201cDistinguished Service Award\u201d in recognition of his outstanding personal achievements and contributions to the bar. He has also received the New Hampshire Bar President\u2019s Award for his distinguished and compassionate service.<\/p>\n

When asked about his time on the Court, Justice Hicks commented: \u201cServing the people of New Hampshire has been a tremendous honor and a true blessing. I\u2019m indebted to all the fantastic people I\u2019ve had the pleasure of working with over the years and will never forget the wonderful memories from my time on the Court.\u201d<\/p>\n

HPU Law\u2019s Founding Dean Mark Martin, a former justice on a state supreme court himself, commented, \u201cWe are so honored to have Justice Hicks as a member of our extended faculty at High Point Law. He is an eminent jurist, a true public servant, and an attorney of the highest distinction.
