Our students learn to <strong>write like lawyers<\/strong> in intimate classes of ten or fewer, creating a setting that feels more like a collaborative seminar around a kitchen table than a crowded lecture hall. Each student receives individualized instruction from expert faculty dedicated to developing exceptional legal writing skills. The results? A <strong>near-perfect<\/strong> student evaluation for the first semester of High Point Law\u2019s legal research and writing course \u2014 a rare achievement in legal education.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Professional Development from Day One<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>First-year students take two <strong>professional identity formation courses<\/strong>, designed to inspire and inform their career paths:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Fall Semester<\/strong>: Students engage with state and federal judges, top practitioners, and public law advocates from across the country. This pass\/fail course encourages students to reflect on future career opportunities amidst the rigors of first-year doctrinal courses (challenging courses that students must take at virtually every law school).<\/li>\n<li><strong>Spring Semester<\/strong>: Students develop personalized career plans, building on their own aspirations and mapping their own legal journeys.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Guaranteed Internships<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Unlike many law schools, High Point Law<strong> guarantees <\/strong>a legal internship to every student who wants one. In our inaugural year, every single first-year student who wanted an internship secured one \u2014 including <strong>32 prestigious judicial internships<\/strong> with U.S. Circuit Courts, State Appellate Courts, and Trial Courts.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Real-World Impact: Access to Justice Practicum<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Students also take a unique Access to Justice Practicum taught by the Honorable Nathan Hecht, former Chief Justice of Texas.
