\"BrittonAt High Point Law, we instruct our students with an emphasis on “practice-ready” outcomes. Not having finished her second year, Britton Miller (Class of 2027) is already experiencing that outcome. Britton has secured two separate post-graduate clerkship positions with North Carolina\u2019s highest appellate courts.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

While most students spend their 2L year attempting to secure their first legal job to start after graduation, Britton has already secured not just her first job but a second as well. Upon graduating in the summer of 2027, she will serve as a clerk for Chief Judge Chris Dillon at the North Carolina Court of Appeals from 2027\u20132028. Following her clerk assignment at the Court of Appeals, she will then serve as a clerk for Justice Trey Allen at the North Carolina Supreme Court from 2028\u20132029.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Britton\u2019s achievement is built on a series of rigorous legal internships that she has had during the summer of 2025. Last summer she served as a judicial intern for Chief Judge Chris Dillon at the North Carolina C<\/span>ourt of Appeals, and she also was selected as a Blackstone Legal Fellow, which is a prestigious and a highly competitive national program that prepares law students to serve as leaders in the legal profession.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

For this coming summer, Britton will also intern in Raleigh at the law office of Rik Lovett & Associates. This experience will provide her with invaluable “boots-on-the-ground” practice opportunities that will add a balance to her judicial clerkship experience.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Britton had this to say about her accomplishments:<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI am sincerely grateful for these clerkships my Lord Jesus has provided, and they are wholly attributable to the support of the faculty at High Point Law and my fellow student body who have sharpened my legal skills and invested in me personally and professionally. As I look <\/span>to<\/span> 2027 and 2028, I anticipate the privilege of serving my state and being mentored during my clerkships by these esteemed jurists who have impeccable character and a genuine regard for the people of North Carolina. It will be an<\/span> honor to clerk for them and glean from their wisdom. I am simply humbled and thankful for these opportunities. ‘For everything comes from him and exists by his power and is intended for his glory. All glory to him forever!’ Romans 11:36\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Former North Carolina Supreme Court Chief Justice and founding Dean Mark Martin commented,<\/p>\n
