High Point University\u2019s Kenneth F. Kahn School of Law is pleased to welcome Betty Bobbitt Byrne to the law school community as Clinical Associate Professor and Director of Academic and Bar Support. Joining the law school at the beginning of the semester, Betty Bobbitt\u00a0brings a wealth of experience in academic and bar support, private law practice, and leadership development to her new role.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cBetty\u00a0Bobbitt brings an exceptional combination of legal experience, academic support expertise, and a genuine passion for helping students succeed,\u201d said Dean Mark Martin. \u201cAs we prepare our inaugural class for the bar examination and continue to build a law school committed to professional excellence, her experience and student-centered approach will be invaluable.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Betty Bobbitt is passionate about legal education and helping law students make meaningful connections between what they learn in the classroom and how that knowledge is applied in real-world legal practice. In her role as Director of Academic and Bar Support, she will work closely with students and faculty to strengthen academic success and help prepare students for the challenges of the bar examination and the practice of law.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Byrne said, “I am honored to join the High Point University community and the Kenneth F. Kahn School of Law. I look forward to working with talented students and colleagues as we continue to provide an exceptional legal education and prepare future leaders in the profession.” <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n A native Tar Heel, Betty Bobbitt is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. While her professional credentials are an important part of her story, she also brings plenty of personality to the High Point Law community. \u00a0For starters, Betty Bobbitt is a double first name\u2014and she goes by both names. \u00a0Outside of the law school, Betty Bobbitt is equally passionate about two very different pursuits: needlepoint and mahjong. In fact, she is happy to teach either to anyone interested in learning.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Betty Bobbitt also carries with her a piece of advice that has guided her throughout her life. A favorite quote of hers, generally attributed to Arthur Ashe, echoes her father\u2019s advice when she was deciding whether to attend law school: \u201cUse what talent you\u2019ve been given. Do everything you can with it, and you will be more successful than many who have more.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n As the Kenneth F. Kahn School of Law continues to grow, Betty Bobbitt\u2019s experience, enthusiasm, and student-centered approach will be a valuable addition to the community.
