\"lb\"Hi, I\u2019m Lauren! I began my role as the Head of Reference Services Librarian in August, around the same time many of you were stepping foot on campus for the first time, too. Now that we\u2019re all finishing the semester together, I wanted to share a few of the things I\u2019ve learned about the HPU Libraries that\u2019ll be helpful for both new and more experienced students alike.<\/p>\r\n

How (and who!) to ask for help<\/strong><\/h2>\r\n

One of the things I love about being a librarian at HPU is how helpful my colleagues are! Even though we all perform a variety of tasks, a key part of our mission is to assist students in any way we can. You can find a list of all HPU librarians by clicking Library Faculty and Staff<\/a> on the library homepage.<\/p>\r\n

The Ask a Librarian page<\/a> on the HPU Libraries\u2019 website also has contact information for all library departments, a link to schedule a one-on-one consultation<\/a> for in-depth help, and a list of subject specialist librarians<\/a> for different academic areas.<\/p>\r\n

Ask a Librarian-Online chat<\/strong><\/h2>\r\n

The library chat service is another way to ask for help that deserves its own section of this blog post! Simply type your question into one of the chat boxes found throughout the library\u2019s website<\/a> and, day or night during our 24\/5 operating hours, a friendly HPU librarian will help you with any question you have.<\/p>\r\n

 <\/p>\r\n

You can print (almost) anything\u2026from anywhere!<\/strong><\/h2>\r\n

The library has both color and black and white printers available. You can print from one of the library\u2019s computers or follow the instructions listed on our printing guide<\/a> to learn how to set up Follow-Me Print on your laptop. If you need something a little more professional, check out this information about the Print Shop<\/a>, located on the first floor of Smith Library.<\/p>\r\n

Finally, you can now print from your mobile device using mobility print! This system allows you to print from either your Apple or Android mobile device, such as cellphones or tablets, completely seamlessly.<\/p>\r\n

Study spaces<\/strong><\/h2>\r\n

\"newstudyspace\"The HPU Libraries have a variety of study spaces available for students. If you need quiet, independent study space, you can work in peace on the 3rd<\/sup> floor of Smith Library or in the Learning Commons on the 3rd<\/sup> floor of the Wanek Center. Looking for a group study space? The 1st<\/sup> floor of Smith Library has a bunch of tables for collaboration and allows a higher level of noise.<\/p>\r\n

Research guides<\/strong><\/h2>\r\n

Finally, no matter the subject, we have a ton of information collected in our research guides<\/a>. These guides can help you find scholarly articles for your English paper<\/a>, learn how to use APA<\/a>, detail how to find data and statistics<\/a>, help you find images for your project<\/a>\u2026 and much, much more!<\/p>\r\n
