American Portraits
American Portraits - Wind Ensemble
The High Point University Wind Ensemble, under the direction of Associate Professor of Music, Dr. Brian Meixner, presents “American Portraits” on Saturday, November 5th at 3:00pm in HPU’s Hayworth Fine Arts Center. This performance will feature music by American composers that celebrates all things American history, heritage, and culture. Join us for an afternoon of American music for winds!

Instrumental Chamber
Instrumental Chamber Ensembles Concert
The HPU Department of Music will present an Instrumental Chamber Ensembles concert at 7:30pm on Tuesday, November 8th in the Hayworth Chapel. This performance will feature all of the small ensembles in the department, including the Percussion Ensemble, Clarinet Choir, Brass Ensemble, Chamber Strings, and more. The program will include varied repertoire that will entertain audiences of all musical interests.

Jazz Ensemble
Jazz Ensemble Concert
The High Point University Jazz Ensemble, directed by Dr. Robert Faub, presents its annual Fall Concert at 7:30pm on Tuesday, November 15th in HPU’s Empty Space Theatre. The mission of the ensemble is to equip students to understand, interpret and improvise in a variety of jazz styles, utilizing the recordings and compositions of the great icons of jazz. We invite you to share in an evening of jazz with us!

Awakenings
Awakenings - HPU Community Orchestra
The High Point Community Orchestra, under the director of Associate Professor of Music, Dr. Brian Meixner, presents “Awakenings” on Monday, November 28th at 7:30pm in HPU’s Hayworth Fine Arts Center. This performance will include Beethoven’s epic Symphony No. 5 and Joseph Curiale’s Awakening. Both of these works have a “triumph over adversity” theme that audience members will be sure to find inspirational. Also featured on the program will be the winner of the 2022-23 HPU Student Concerto Competition.

Festive and Bright - Holiday Choral Concert
Join us in welcoming the holiday season with a collection of Christmas and Hannukah classics sung by the combined HPU choirs with accompaniment from the orchestra.

Celebrate the Holidays - Instrumental Holiday Concert
Instrumental Ensembles from the HPU Department of Music present a holiday concert at Hayworth Fine Arts Center at 3:00pm on Sunday, December 4th ,”Celebrate the Holidays”. The one-hour event will include performances of holiday music by the HPU Community Orchestra, Wind Ensemble, Jazz Ensemble, Percussion Ensemble, and several small instrumental groups. Be ready to get into the holiday spirit!
