Our campus provides daily experiences for students travelling their lifelong journey of education. The values of civility and serving others surround your student at HPU.<\/p>\n<p>Students contribute measurable service to their local and global communities. Many\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.highpoint.edu\/blog\/2016\/10\/trick-or-treat-local-children-experience-halloween-on-hpu-campus\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">gave out candy to trick-or-treaters<\/a>\u00a0from\u00a0Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Central Piedmont,\u00a0while The Student Council for Exceptional Children (CEC) hosted a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.highpoint.edu\/blog\/2016\/10\/students-host-halloween-dance-for-individuals-with-disabilities\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Halloween Dance for individuals with disabilities<\/a>\u00a0from the High Point community.<\/p>\n<p>Other students\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.highpoint.edu\/blog\/2016\/10\/students-spend-fall-break-giving-back-2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">traveled abroad during their fall breaks<\/a>. In Guatemala, students worked with low-income families to build dozens of stoves that will lessen smoke and increase ventilation in their houses. And in Costa Rica, members of HPU&#8217;s Alpha Phi Omega service fraternity\u00a0helped build a community center, teach children English and assist with a feeding program. And on Veterans Day, hundreds of students volunteered to honor our nation&#8217;s heroes.<\/p>\n<p>I continue to be amazed with the thoughtful acts of generosity our students display. How they live, how they know that anything is possible.
