Dear Parents,<\/p>\n

You are our partners and play a vital role in your student\u2019s college journey. You know their strengths and characteristics better than anyone. Encourage your student to take full advantage of the Office of Career and Professional Development throughout their entire time at HPU in order to help convey their strengths to employers and graduate schools.<\/p>\n

Internships are essential in your student landing a career after graduation. We tell students to visit our office early and often to get the most out of their professional development at HPU.<\/p>\n

Our office is launching a new program that guarantees an internship for every student who completes the 24-step professional development program<\/a> that covers Career Exploration, Professional Development and Branding, Networking, Research and Interviewing. Our strategic approach to helping students land internships is one of the many reasons that 97% of HPU graduates are employed or continuing their education within six months of graduation, which is 11 points higher than the national average.<\/p>\n

Also, our website is designed to inform and inspire students and parents.\u00a0We invite you to take a look at\u00a0highpoint.edu\/careerinternships<\/a>. We have added resources like Big Interview<\/a> to prepare students for an increasingly digital hiring process, and we recently introduced our new career services platform Purple Briefcase. Within this platform, students will be notified about Career & Professional Development events as well as have opportunities to apply for internships and full-time employment. Please encourage your student to sign up and create a profile at Purple Briefcase<\/a>.<\/p>\n
