Dr. Matt Kuennen – Health Sciences

Dr. Matt Kuennen, assistant professor in the Department of Exercise Science, knows there is a growing demand for translational research in environmental and occupational physiology. From military applications to sports teams and a variety of workplace scenarios in-between, Kuennen knows that while the physiological adaptations that dictate exercise/work performance originate at the cellular level, they must be integrated across a diverse network of physiologic systems before they can benefit. Kuennen can speak about his past work on cooling modalities in military populations, the integration of thermotolerance and heat acclimation, and a variety of dietary supplements/ergogenic aids.
