Dr. Eric Hegedus is the founding chair of the Department of Physical Therapy and is also a physical therapist. He has been dedicated to academia and clinical practice since becoming a physical therapist in 1991. He works with athletes, especially basketball, lacrosse, and distance runners. His research is in a few main areas including the accuracy of the clinical orthopedic examination, the use of common tests to screen for injury risk, and bone health in distance athletes.
