Dr. Dave Tofanelli is the assistant professor of the practice of management in the Earl N. Phillips School of Business. Tofanelli teaches undergraduate and graduate courses on organizational behavior, innovation management, leadership and health care management. Before joining HPU, Tofanelli spent 30 years as a healthcare executive. He was practice administrator for UNC Regional Physicians Carolina Cardiology in High Point. He also was managing partner for a health care management consulting group, and he held leadership roles at Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield, MedMark Services Inc. and Kaiser Permanente Mid-Atlantic Health Plan. He began his career in the U.S. Air Force and is a veteran of both the Vietnam and Desert Storm conflicts. Tofanelli has extensive expertise in leading large organizations, health care contracting on a national basis, and working with diverse geographically separated teams. Tofanelli has a Bachelor of Science in business administration, a Master of Business Administration, a Master of System Management and a Ph.D. in organizational leadership. He is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and the author of three books.
