He has more than 30 years of clinical athletic training experience with the sports of soccer and baseball. Tarara specializes in upper-extremity injury prevention and rehabilitation in overhand athletes. Tarara is a spirited mentor, the 2016 Meredith Clark Slane Distinguished Teaching-Service Award recipient, and a 2019 American Kinesiology Association Leadership Institute Fellow. As a dynamic educator, Tarara teaches across the breadth of the exercise science curriculum, form freshmen level introductory classes to 3000-and 4000-level upper division courses such as exercise and aging. As a professor, he is a role model for students and is known for fostering adaptability and resiliency in the classroom. Tarara has published research in the British Journal of Sports Medicine and the International Journal of Sport Physical Therapy. Tarara graduated from Springfield College with a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training; earned a Master\u2019s of Science from Purdue University in Health, Kinesiology, and Leisure Studies; and completed a doctoral degree in kinesiology from UNC-Greensboro.
