What is Conflict of Interest?<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Conflict of Interest (COI) regulations are designed to ensure that a researcher\u2019s personal integrity, judgment, and objectivity are not compromised by a financial or personal relationship.\u00a0 These regulations require High Point University to remove or manage any actual or perceived COI.\u00a0 Faculty who participate in sponsored research are subject to the High Point University Sponsored Research COI policy.<\/p>\n

What is the Process for Disclosure?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

High Point University\u2019s COI policy is based on the requirements of the National Institutes of Health regulations.\u00a0\u00a0 All participating faculty must disclose their outside financial interests for the previous year by March 1.\u00a0 Additionally, faculty must provide ad hoc disclosures as circumstances merit.\u00a0 COI training and disclosure are required before a researcher engages in research and every four year thereafter.\u00a0\u00a0 Please complete the disclosure and training and send the form and certificate to rasp@highpoint.edu.<\/p>\n
