It has features such as prayer clothes, religious elements from various traditions (such as: Qurans, prayer beads, meditation cushions, weighted blankets, chairs) and hand and foot washing stations. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-ogsc=\"black\"><strong>Practice:<\/strong> The space is intentionally created to be flexible and welcoming for a wide range of practices. For example:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span data-ogsc=\"black\">Muslim students can use it for daily prayers.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-ogsc=\"black\">Hindu and Buddhist students can engage in meditation, chanting, or mindfulness<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-ogsc=\"black\">Students from Indigenous or other spiritual traditions can use the space for grounding and personal rituals.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-ogsc=\"black\">The room becomes a shared safe environment where diverse expressions of spirituality are equally respected.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span data-ogsc=\"black\">At the same time, the space extends beyond religion alone. It offers a quiet refuge for any student seeking rest, stillness, or<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-8656 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/www.highpoint.edu\/religiouslife\/files\/2023\/08\/IMG_4283-225x300.png\" alt=\"IMG 4283\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.highpoint.edu\/religiouslife\/files\/2023\/08\/IMG_4283-225x300.png 225w, https:\/\/www.highpoint.edu\/religiouslife\/files\/2023\/08\/IMG_4283-768x1024.png 768w, https:\/\/www.highpoint.edu\/religiouslife\/files\/2023\/08\/IMG_4283-713x950.png 713w, https:\/\/www.highpoint.edu\/religiouslife\/files\/2023\/08\/IMG_4283.png 975w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 225px) 100vw, 225px\" \/> mindfulness in the midst of a demanding academic schedule.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-ogsc=\"black\">Research shows that such spaces support mental health by reducing stress and promoting self-regulation, which benefits the entire student body.
