The university dining plan is provided for all residential students.
\nThe cost of the dining plan is included as part of your comprehensive fee for housing and dining. Students are defaulted to the 14-meal plan, but your dining plan selection can be changed by logging into my.highpoint.edu<\/a> during the meal plan change window and selecting the Dining Plan Selection link on the right. The following information is provided to help you identify the dining plan choice that best meets your needs.<\/p>\n

\"Meal<\/a><\/p>\n

GLOBAL DINING<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Farmers Market, The Caf\u00e9, The Silver Line Diner and The Village Grille all accept global meal swipes. Each time you dine with one of these locations, one meal is deducted from your weekly meal allowance at time of purchase and is automatically replenished each week.<\/p>\n

MAGIC MEAL DINING<\/strong><\/p>\n

Get more for your swipe \u2014 use seven of your meals to utilize for select options at food courts and restaurants across campus throughout the semester. Magic Meals<\/a> and offerings vary between locations. Magic Meals are deducted from your account at time of purchase and are automatically replenished each week.<\/p>\n

DINING DOLLARS<\/strong><\/p>\n

Already included just for you! Dining Dollars work just like cash on your passport, are accepted at all HPU Dining locations except 1924 Prime Steakhouse, Alo and Kazoku, and are meant to supplement your Magic Meals. For details visit https:\/\/finedining.highpoint.edu\/<\/a> The Dining Dollar amount is per semester and does not transfer from semester to semester. You may also use your Dining Dollars at concessions during any athletic events.<\/p>\n

CASHLESS CAMPUS & THE PASSPORT CARD GENERAL ACCOUNT<\/strong><\/p>\n

The \u201cHPU Cashless Campus\u201d model ensures that our students are able to enjoy the extraordinary services we provide for their exclusive use in a safe and secure environment. The Passport Card is the only form of payment accepted on campus. Students will need to use their HPU Passport Card when hosting family and friends. The Passport Card also contains a \u201cGeneral Account.\u201d The General Account funds may be used at all dining locations on campus, the campus bookstore or at any of our nearly 100 Passport Partner locations throughout the city of High Point. Students can add funds to their Passport Card General Account through my.highpoint.edu when they are selecting their meal plan or through the eAccounts app by choosing High Point University. Students and parents may make cash and credit\/debit card deposits to the Passport Card by using one of our \u201cPassport ATM\u201d machines located throughout campus or at\u00a0my.highpoint.edu<\/a>. Many Passport Partners in High Point offer discounts to students for using their Passport Card to make their purchase.<\/p>\n

With 18 dining venues located throughout campus, students have a variety of menu options to suit their palates. We also recognize that many students have specific dietary needs that often require specially prepared items. In order to make these items easily identifiable, we have developed several dining icons. Skip the lines! Mobile ordering is a simple, convenient way to order, pay and pick up. You can browse our restaurants and menus, order from your favorite campus spots, and pay with your meal plan. Using the app, allows you to know when to expect your food and get notified when your food is ready. You can also use the app to reserve a spot at our Caf\u00e9 and Farmers Market restaurants. Designating your Dining Plan for 2025-2026<\/h3>\n

Designating your Dining Plan is done online, through your my.highpoint.edu<\/a> account. \u00a0Every student is automatically signed up for the 14 meal\/week plan.\u00a0 The window to change your Fall 2025<\/strong> dining plan is August 11 – August 29 @ 5pm<\/strong>\u00a0and is done via your my.highpoint.edu<\/a> account.\u00a0 If you would like to change your Fall 2025 plan designation, you must do so before August 29, 2025 @ 5pm via your my.highpoint.edu<\/a>\u00a0account.<\/p>\n

Once you have decided which dining plan matches your lifestyle, log on to your\u00a0my.highpoint.edu<\/a>\u00a0account <\/span>and look for the “Dining Plan Selection” option under My Account.<\/p>\n

If you have any questions concerning the HPU Dining Plan, please contact the Office of Student Accounts at 336-841-9259 if you need assistance.<\/p>\n

Please note: \u00a0If you are living in campus housing, you do not<\/span> have the option of removing your meal plan<\/strong>.<\/em><\/p>\n

Dining Services For Students Who Commute<\/h3>\n

As a student living off-campus you have great\u00a0flexibility in selecting a meal plan. You may, but\u00a0are not required, to select from the following\u00a0options.<\/p>\n

The Commuter Meal Plan includes 75 meals plus $200 in Dining Dollars per semester. These meals are just like magic meals that can be used at any time, at any dining location on campus. Also, please enjoy four of these meals at 1924 PRIME, Alo, OR Kazoku per semester. Commuter students also have the option to choose from one of the four residential dining meal plans that are listed above.<\/p>\n

The cost of the commuter meal plan is $1,548.00 per semester plus the NC Meal Plan Tax of $104.49.<\/p>\n

*If you are a residential student you can<\/span> not<\/span> choose the commuter meal plan as your dining option.<\/strong><\/p>\n

If you wish to add the commuter meal plan to your account, log on to your\u00a0my.highpoint.edu<\/a>\u00a0account and look for the “Dining Plan Selection” option under My Account and choose the commuter meal plan option.\u00a0 Please contact the Office of Student Accounts at 336-841-9259 if you need assistance.<\/p>\n

Important: North Carolina State Sales Tax information<\/h4>\n

The North Carolina General Assembly made significant changes to the Sales and Use Tax Code during its 2013 General Session.\u00a0 One of the changes will have an impact on how much students pay for meals at universities in North Carolina. \u00a0 Previously, student at higher education institutions in North Carolina were exempt from paying sales tax when they purchased food on campus.\u00a0 However this exemption,\u00a0 G.S. 105-164.13(27) was repealed by the North Carolina tax reform bill (H998) SL 2013-316.\u00a0 The University has been advised that dining plans will be subject to North Carolina sales tax effective with the 2014 summer dining plans.\u00a0 The sales tax of 6.75% will appear as a separate line item on your semester billing statements.<\/p>\n
