The cost of education today is a substantial investment, one which is likely to be your second largest next to a home purchase. \u00a0If you are hurt or become ill and cannot complete the term, you stand to lose thousands of dollars. \u00a0While most colleges provide partial refunds for withdrawals, they are limited and usually effective only when you withdraw early in the term. \u00a0This Plan dramatically enhances the college refund schedule and provides more generous funds throughout the entire term.<\/p>\n
The Tuition Refund Plan will alleviate if not eliminate your financial loss. \u00a0The Plan will return your tuition and allow you to re-enter college when a term must be repeated. \u00a0It will provide funds which can reduce your loan obligations under government or private loan programs. \u00a0Subject to the program terms and conditions, if you withdraw from classes because of a personal injury or sickness, this Plan will return up to:<\/p>\n

Every undergraduate student or parent for whom the loss of a term’s fee would represent a significant financial hardship should take advantage in the Tuition Refund Plan.<\/p>\n
75% of the insured term tuition and fees<\/a>, less any refund or credit due to you from High Point University, will be refunded provided your physical condition is certified by a licensed physician and forces you to completely withdraw from all classes for the balance of the term.<\/p>\n 75% of the insured term tuition and fees<\/a>, less any refund or credit due to you from High Point University, will be refunded provided your medical condition is certified by a licensed physician and you have completely withdrawn from all classes for any condition whose diagnosis is found in the DSM-V Manual.<\/p>\n In both cases above, a “complete withdrawal” from the college is required. \u00a0This means you have given written notice that because of your injury or sickness you will not receive any academic credit. \u00a0A written statement from your doctor certifying the injury or sickness and college verification will be required.<\/p>\n Your protection covers a full undergraduate term from the opening to closing date. \u00a0Your application must be postmarked before the opening date. \u00a0This coverage refunds on a term basis only. \u00a0If your premium covers a full year, and if for any reason you do not return for subsequent terms, please notify us during the current policy year and any unused premium will be refunded to you. \u00a0No applications can be accepted if received after you start classes. \u00a0Coverage ceases on the last day of formal undergraduate academic instruction by High Point University due to any reason.<\/p>\n Room, meals or other charges that are not paid to High Point University cannot be insured.<\/p>\n *Note that the Plan does not cover the following<\/strong><\/em>:<\/p>\n Claims should be reported within 30 days from occurrence or as soon as it is reasonably possible. \u00a0You should arrange for the completion of the claim form. \u00a0Benefit payment is made to High Point University to be credited to the student’s account. \u00a0Benefits not required to settle your account with High Point University will be refunded to you through High Point University. \u00a0All mental health withdrawals will be classified in accordance with the American Psychiatric Association’s Diagnostic and Statistical Manual-DSM-V.<\/p>\n In the event that you need to file a claim, contact Student Accounts via email at studentaccounts@highpoint.edu or by phone at (336) 841-9259.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n The cost of the plan is $430.00 for the 2025-2026 academic year.\u00a0 This will be charged half in the fall semester and half in the spring semester. The Plan is administered by A.W.G. Dewar, Inc., Quincy, Massachusetts, now in its ninth decade of service to the educational community.<\/h6>\n
The Tuition Refund Policy is underwritten by Atlantic Specialty Insurance Company, New York, NY, a member company of the OneBeacon Insurance Group, for A.W.G. Dewar, Inc., dba A.W.G.
