{"id":6,"date":"2019-05-23T14:18:00","date_gmt":"2019-05-23T18:18:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.highpoint.edu\/title-ix\/?page_id=6"},"modified":"2026-08-10T11:27:35","modified_gmt":"2026-08-10T15:27:35","slug":"resources-for-students-impacted-by-sexual-misconduct","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.highpoint.edu\/title-ix\/resources-for-students-impacted-by-sexual-misconduct\/","title":{"rendered":"Resources for Students Impacted by Sexual Misconduct"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>What is Sexual Misconduct?<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Sexual<\/strong> <strong>Misconduct<\/strong> is prohibited behavior that satisfies one or more of the following:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sexual Harassment<\/strong> : Unwelcome conduct of a sexual nature or based on sex, including sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, sexually motivated physical contact or other verbal, nonverbal, or physical conduct or communication of a sexual nature when:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Quid Pro Quo <\/strong>Submission to or rejection of that conduct or communication is made a term or condition, either explicitly or implicitly, of an individual\u2019s educational experience or employment.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Hostile Environment <\/strong>Unwelcome conduct determined by a reasonable person to be so severe or pervasive or objectively offensive that it unreasonably interferes with an individual\u2019s functioning or creates an intimidating, hostile, or abusive working or learning environment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Sexual Exploitation : <\/strong>Taking non-consensual or abusive sexual advantage of another for one\u2019s own benefit or for the benefit of anyone other than the person being exploited, including extending the bounds of consensual contact without the knowledge or consent of the other person. Examples of Sexual Exploitation include, but are not limited to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>using AI to create images of another\u2019s genitalia<\/li>\n<li>viewing or disseminating images of another\u2019s intimate parts<\/li>\n<li>posting images of private sexual activity<\/li>\n<li>voyeurism<\/li>\n<li>recording sexual activity without consent<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Interference with Procedures :<\/strong> Knowingly falsifying, distorting, or misrepresenting information provided to the Title IX Coordinator, an investigator, hearing decision-maker(s), executive council, or appeal official; or knowingly instituting a complaint without cause and in bad faith.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong>What can you do?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><strong>If you want to report right away or speak with Confidential Resources, there are options for how you decide to move forward. <\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>What is Sexual Misconduct?
